Put a dad and a toddler in matching hats and something happens: a grocery run becomes a parade. Strangers smile. Someone will absolutely say "where did you get those?!" (you'll get used to it). We make matching adult and kids hats on purpose, we call them Twinsies, and this is the guide to getting the pair right.
How Twinsies work
Our most-loved designs, like Happiest Camper and You Are My Sunshine, come in both grown-up and kid form, made to be worn together. The adult hat adjusts to fit most heads. The kids version comes in Baby and Toddler (up to age 2) or Youth (3 and up), both adjustable 5-panel snapbacks. Pick the design that fits your crew, grab both sizes, and you're officially a matching set.
That Youth size is the part people miss. Matching doesn't stop when the baby stage does.
Matching dad and son hats
Same set, bigger kid. A three-year-old wears the Youth size, and it keeps adjusting from there, which is why the dad-and-son version of this outlasts the dad-and-baby version by about a decade.
If your kid is between sizes, buy the one that fits now and plan on the next one. Parents do this constantly:
"The one I got my son is a little big on him but these hats are so cute I decided to just order another hat for him in the smaller size and keep the other for when he gets a little older. I wear mine all the time now, great hats!" (Kim M., verified review)
And it does not expire at any particular age. Grown sons are still sons:
"Great looking hat; my 22 year old son loves it." (Pam G., verified review)
Matching dad and daughter hats
Nothing about a Twinsie set is boy-coded. The designs are the designs, and the sizes are the same sizes, so a dad-and-daughter pair is the identical purchase. Older girls tend to pick the hat themselves, which is the whole trick:
"My daughter 15.5 is into flat brimmed hats these days- bought as a surprise and she loves it!" (Lyndsay M., verified review)
Matching mom and baby hats
Twinsie sets are not a dad product. The adult hat is the adult hat; whoever wears it is up to your family. Moms buy these for themselves as often as they buy them for the dad in the photo, and grandparents are quietly the biggest repeat customers we have.
Family matching hats
If there are two kids, the answer is usually one adult hat plus two kids sizes rather than a second set. Baby and Toddler for the little one, Youth for the older one, same design across all three. Browse kids hats and adult hats separately if you want to mix designs instead of matching exactly.
"We are an outdoorsy family and this hat fits the needs for our girls perfectly!" (Victoria M., verified review)
Why parents keep buying them
The reviews tell it better than we can:
"I purchased them as a gift for my husband and our five year old to match. They will wear these all the time!" (Jocelyn P., verified review)
"I bought my toddler the same hat a while ago and am so happy we can now match! Having the same hat as papa has made him love wearing his even more." (Christopher A., verified review)
"The hat fits my four month old and almost 2 year old! I love that I get to match with them!" (Amber, verified review)
That middle one is the quiet superpower: kids who fight every other hat will happily wear the one that matches yours. Matching beats nagging, every time.
Gift math
A Twinsie set is the rare gift that lands for two people at once. New dads, Father's Day, birthdays, family photo day. The hats get worn for years and the photos last forever.
The feel-good footnote
Every hat plants a tree through our 1-for-1 Giveback. A matching pair plants two. Twinsies all the way down.
