Founder's Corner

Hey Friends.

Letโ€™s kick things off with a congrats to Kelly, who won aย $50 Gift Cardย for her reply in last weekโ€™s issue. Hereโ€™s what she had to say in her comment:

โ€œHello! Iโ€™ve been a big fan of your products for awhile, I always get compliments on myย Happiest Camperย hat ๐Ÿคฉ Iโ€™ve really enjoyed your weekly newsletter with cool music recs, book recs, quotes and Founders Corner. I think the Pay What You Can Campaign is super thoughtful and meaningful ๐Ÿ™ Iโ€™ve been wanting to comment ever sinceย Volume 14. That told me everything I thought I knew about your company and solidified it in print. Thank you for your Bad Bunny review, it was everything I felt too. ๐Ÿ’— You have a wonderful company, amazing products, great founders who are clearly passionate about positivity. Iโ€™m so happy to be able to continue to support your company and share how rad you are!โ€

Way to make us feel good. And right back at you Kelly, thanks for following along, and thanks to everyone who wrote in or commented.

Here's some great news for any delayed preorders: a big shipment of hats and enamel mugs just got delivered, and weโ€™re in the process of unpacking them and filling backorders as quickly as we can. That process may take a few days, but if youโ€™ve got hats & mugs in your order and it's been delayed, keep an eye on your inbox (and your mailbox) in the days ahead.

Is there an elephant in the room? I feel it. I've never shied away from commenting on world events in this space when something needs to be said. And boy, we've had quite the week on that front.

But Iโ€™ll be honest with you, Iโ€™m not feeling like diving in on the War topic today, and Iโ€™m sure you donโ€™t need me to. I'll defer, and let Edwin Starr say it all for me below. Letโ€™s just shine a little light instead.

In personal news: I turn 47 on Saturday, and Iโ€™m celebrating in my favorite way, with a good olโ€™ fashioned house party. The kids are spending the night at Grandmaโ€™s, and weโ€™re turning the music and the good times up to 11. Maybe Iโ€™ll have some stories to share next week when this youngold man has recovered.

Until thenโ€ฆenjoy Vol. 17, support small business, go see live music, stand up for those who need it, and have a great weekend, friends!

- Seth

From Our Table To Yours

In our early years of dating, Heather would always ask me what kind of cake or dessert I wanted for my birthday.

My favorite dessert? Maybe you know yours, but thatโ€™s a pretty impossible question for me.

Then one year, Heather walked into the room at my party with this incredible creation:

A tower of donuts with candles on top.

Is a donut my favorite dessert? No, not at all.

But, no matter how fancy you make your birthday cake, it always goes the same way at a party: Who wants a slice? Is that too big? You want one with less frosting? Where are the forks?

Or, you can blow out candles on a tower of donuts, and watch as all your friends devour them without a fork or a plate in sight.

Heather hasn't asked me what kind of cake I want for years, and I don't need to tell her.

No recipe needed here. Just stack your favorite donuts, light โ€˜em up, and start singing.

What We're Listening To

War and Peace
Edwin Starr

Enough said, right?

From its powerful start, through one hard-hitting soul banger after another, this is likely to get turned up loud on Saturday night.

Go ahead and play it with me.

Quote of the Week

"War, huh (good God y'all)
What is it good for?
Absolutely nothing, say it again."

- Edwin Starr
