Founder's Corner

Heather & I celebrated our 5th anniversary last week in Breckenridge, CO.

The aspen trees were at peak golden colors, and it felt like walking in a painting wherever we went.

We all know 2020 was a hard year. And for us, as we carried all the stress of running a small business during COVID, and family getting sick, we also had to cancel our wedding.

It put us both into a bit of a funk (weren't we all?), until one day we woke up, packed up our wedding clothes, and just drove. We turned down one bumpy mountain road after another for hours. And then there it was, a hidden spot that felt like it was made just for us.

The glowing aspens filled in for our friends & family, and we shared our vows in a way that wasn't at all what we planned - but somehow exactly what it should have been.

Now, every September when I see the aspens glowing, it's a reminder: Life is hard, and it can be easy to get into a funk.

So, pack a few snacks, toss your expectations, and remember that the bumpiest roads can lead to the best rewards. See that glow up ahead? You're almost there.

What We're Listening To

Scooter Blues
Johnny Blue Skies (Sturgill Simpson)

This song is pure feel-good energy and always makes me smile. From the first few notes, it’s the kind of tune that lifts your spirit, makes your head nod, and instantly lightens the mood.

Seth and I were lucky enough to see him play twice this summer in Colorado, including just a couple weeks ago at Red Rocks, and he always puts on the best show.

From Our Table To Yours

Big Apple Crumb Cake

This recipe is absolutely perfect for this time of year, especially during apple-picking season.

While it’s baking, your whole home fills with that cozy autumn scent of cinnamon, brown sugar, and sweet apples bubbling under a thick crumb topping.

Pure fall magic.

Quote of the Week

Hug O' War

I will not play at tug o' war.
I'd rather play at hug o' war,
Where everyone hugs
Instead of tugs,
Where everyone giggles
And rolls on the rug,
Where everyone kisses,
And everyone grins,
And everyone cuddles,
And everyone wins.
